Early Thanksgiving visit with grandma (NH)
First ER visit
November 2009-
According to Asher "Eli fell out Hot Dog." Translation= Eli fell out of a hot tub. While we were at grandma's house we were all enjoying the hot tub one evening, then at about 9pm Eli slipped out and fell about 4 feet and hit his head on the edge of a composite decking step.
It seemed like there was a lot of blood since it was mixed with the water from the hot tub. After stopping the bleeding and getting everyone dressed, Dan and I took Eli to the Concord NH Emergency room. Leaving poor grandma to clean up the big mess we all made when we all ran inside without towels.
In the ER we waited, read books, and snuggled with the pillow and blanket that we brought to help Eli feel more comfortable. They finally came in and wrapped/swaddled Eli in a big sheet so he could not move. The gash was so deep I could see his scull. Everyone including Dan and I helped hold him still while the Dr. put 2 dissolvable stitches inside and 6 stiches on the surface. They told Eli he was allowed to scream while they were doing the stitches. At first he tried to hold it in but then he couldn't anymore. He was screaming but he was also so tired that he would stop and yawn, then go back to screaming. It was so sad to watch I was trying to hold it together and talk him through it but Sometimes I had to stop and cry too. The nurse who was holding his head said she was surprised that he held so still and didn't fight her.
The stitches did not seem to bother Eli after that. The next morning he even pulled a shirt right over his head before I could stop him(with a bandage), and it didn't seem to phase him. He was great at keeping a band-aid on it for the next month or so till it healed completely. Now he looks like such a tough guy with his missing tooth and scare!

New Hmpshire with Grandpa
In New Hampshire we went candle pin bowling.
They use little balls that were not to heavy for the boys,
plus we used the bumper rails!
Uncle Peter and Grandpa come with us.
"I really wished I could take these shoes home, I loved them."
Then we celebrated Grandpa Birthday with cookies and ice cream, both of them had sprinkles on them!
Trick or Treat!
This year we went trick or treating in the rain. We thought the boys would only make it a few houses but they were having so much fun that we went much further than we planned.
As you can see we were able to reuse costumes that we had from this summer.
The lollipops were Asher's favorite.
"What do you mean I can't eat them all right now?"
"What do I do with all this colorful stuff?
I know let's make art,
And a chart!"
P.S. did you notice I lost my first tooth and I'm only 4 1/2!
