Birthday Cont.

We celebrated Eli's Birthday so many times in the 2 weeks before March 27th that it felt like Eli's Birthday was a whole season. So, here are the last of the Birthday pictures.

We went to another inflatable place on Eli's Birthday.

They both have so much fun at these places!
And it certainly tires them out.
And don't forget about presents...
And Friends.
And Dinner at Eli's favorite restorant (Old Country Buffet) with Mei-Mom and Pop-pop.So now he is officially 4. Though he wants it to be his Birthday again next week so he can turn 5.

Eli Update

Eli 2 1/2
Look at that blond hair and those chubby cheeks.

It is amazing to look back at pictures of Eli and think about how much he has changed in a little over a year. This is a math game Base 10 that Eli like to play with Daddy. He is learning about 1's, 10's, 100's and 1000's, adding, subtracting and other math skills, but each season always ends with tower building.
This was about a year ago.
So much has happened this past year. We moved to a new house, Eli potty trained, we went on trips to New Hampshire and North Carolina, and we went canoe camping on the Delaware River. Eli learned to Fish, peddle a big wheel, he rode his first zip line, when Rock climbing and so much more.
Recent Pictures
Toys are a big deal right now, and keeping them out of the hands of his little brother has been one of Eli's biggest goals this year. The problem is that Eli has so many favorite toys that he can't protect them all at the same time. But you can be sure that he tries, he loads up bags, buckets and suit cases with all of his most prized posessions then carries them all(sometimes 5 bags or more) where ever he go in the house. When we go out he is only allowed to bring one toy.
Do 3 year olds ever stop talking? Eli's vocabulary is amazing, we are always saying "Did you teach him that word?" In fact it was so good that we started to teach him Chinese, which he seems to love too.
He loves building with Legos, playing with friends, being outside, and helping daddy bringing in the wood for the fire. He also loves to play on the computer on his favorite web sites. Eli loves visiting his Mei-mom and Pop-pop and he always asks to go visit his Grandma and Grandpa in New Hampshire too.

He still loves Trains, particularly Thomas and Friends trains, and the vehicles from the movie cars. He also likes the Sesame Street monsters, Kai-lan, Diego and Dora, Word World, and Super Why.

More recently he learned to draw. He never drew people until one day I asked him to paint our family. He did but it was very rough because he had a thick paint brush. But then the next day he showed me this picture he drew of Asher and I was shocked at how good it was!Eli has always been good at his letters. He started learning them when he was 2 and by 2 1/2 he knew all the letters and the sounds each one made. He was spelling simple words like "stop" and "go" before he turned 3 and now he can write all of his letters, spell lots of words and even read some easy reader books all by himself. He is always asking "how do you spell ...?" He is such a smart boy and he is always excited to learn new things.
We love you Eli and we are so proud or the way you are growing into such a big kid.

Happy Birthday Eli!

4!

Thanks for the present Grandma Cheryl. And the packing peanuts(pop-corn) were yummy too. What a great idea.

Asher threw all has tomatoes into the box grabbed his shovel, climbed in, and went digging for his buried treasure. What Fun!

College Friends

I got together with some friends from my Freshman year of college at Wisconsin Wilderness Campus.

Between the 4 of us girls we now have 7 kids!
Luckily we had great weather.

And we all had a great time.
We even had a birthday party for Eli while we were there.
It is funny to think how much our lives have changed in 10 year. I wonder what life will be like in another 10 year?
Maybe not as crazy, or maybe twice as crazy with twice as many kids :)

Eli learns to climb

Dan and Gary(who builds Tree Houses with Dan) took the older boys Rock climbing.

They will be ready to help their Dad's up in the trees pretty soon.

Aunt Kathy

We had so much fun visiting with Aunt Kathy a few weekends ago!

We went to an inflatable place, where we all got to climb...
play...
crawl through tunnels...
and slide. We also celebrated Eli's Birthday a little early so Aunt Kathy could be part of the festivities.

Though I'm sure she thought we were a little strange when I kept filling Asher's ice cream cone with grape tomatoes and avocado. What, he loved it!

We love you and we miss you Kathy!

Recent Tree Houses

Here are a few of the Tree Houses Dan has built in the past year and a half. There are a lot more but these are the ones that got uploaded onto this computer with the family pictures.

Wow, Dan is so strong!

This is a Tree House Dan started building for Daisy, but the kids have now claimed it as their own.

It is the perfect size for them! And only about 2 1/2 feet off the ground. They like to be just like Daddy and practice building there own Lego Tree Houses.
