Eli's photo shoot

Eli grabbed the camera one day and snapped some pictures.
I think they turned out pretty good for a 5 year old
(with a little cropping from mommy).

Isaac was only 4 days old here.
He didn't stay this little for very long.

I think this may be the only picture I have of just me and Isaac.
Thank you Eli!

A few vsiters

Our neighbor Nicole couldn't wait to hold baby Isaac. She loved to come over and snuggling Isaac the first few months. She was such a big helper! He loved being held and carried around by her and I loved having a few minutes with 2 hands to put dinner on!
Mom-mom came to visit within a few days too.

There are all of her great grandchildren!

Isaac's birth story

At 2:30 am on Aug. 29th 2010 I woke up with contractions. I timed them and wondered if this was "it" for about an hour before I decided this was for real and woke Dan up. I called my midwife Karen and told her "I'm having contractions 10 minutes apart but I'm coming in now since we barley made it into the room with my last baby(15 minutes at the hospital) and we live 40 minutes away." Since the boys were both sleeping my mom came over to stay with them, then we headed off for our 95 mph drive down rt 1(just cause he could, despite my saying we had plenty of time).

(This picture makes me laugh. I carried him straight out front. If you saw me from the back you couldn't even tell I was pregnant)
We got to the hospital at about 5am and by that time I was 6 cm and my contractions were 3 minutes apart. I labored sitting, standing, and swaying. I couldn't go to far because I was hooked up to an IV (because I have a history of heavy bleeding post baby and they say it gets worse with each baby).
Some of the memorable quotes from the nurses and midwife were, "she is really going natural, she is still smiling!" and "go ahead laugh that baby out" said in between pushes. Yes it was VERY painful but I tried to keep a good attitude and remember it would be over soon and I would finally be able to see my baby! My water didn't brake until he was ready to come out.
Isaac Jefferson Wright was born at 8:39am and yes his name means laughter!

Last outing as a family fo 4

I'm working on updating the blog slowly so bear with me. I'm only 8 months behind- I guess that is what a baby does to our life!

The boys spent a few days with mei-mom and pop-pop because they had vacation and wanted to take the boys to do some fun stuff, but the evening they brought them home I was having stronger and more regular contractions, and I thought this was the begging of true labor, so the boys went back to my parents for another night. But as it turns out my contractions stopped soon after I lied down. The next morning we picked up the boys and took them to do a Lowes project and had a fun Saturday with them.

I had been having contractions and been 2 cm for about a month and was thinking I'd go early. I was also worried I would go super fast and not be able to make it to the hospital since Asher's labor was so fast.
It was good to spend one last day as a family of 4 before our life changed again.

For posterity

Since I just changed the picture at the top of this blog I thought I'd post the old one for memory sake!
